Ft. Lauderdale Beach

Buddy and I got a nice little beach dive in. We ventured out from lifeguard shack #17 on Ft. Lauderdale Beach. Vis was 50ft plus, with nary a current, despite some decent wind from the west. Water temp is cooling off but still very nice at 83°.

We set out around noon, to almost flat seas and meandered past the swim buoy  when we dropped down on to some sea grasses. I swear if I ever find a seahorse off the beach again, it will be in this area. I know they are out there…

We made it all the way to the drop off and some deeper water, 36fsw, which is pretty deep for a beach dive.  Along the way we saw the usual cast of critters: angelfish, pork fish, reef butterflyfish, spotfin butterflyfish, lots of juvenile french grunts…
