One Who Creates
I remember back when I turned five, I had a birthday party. One of the gifts was a paint by number set. I remember painting long past my bedtime. I woke the next morning and Mom told me that she fixed some of the painting. Apparently I had mixed the colors. LOL. Why I remember this, I don’t know. But, the memory serves to remind me that I have always been an artist. One who creates.
Somewhere along the road in my life travels, I set down the pencils, brushes, and paint. I had other things to deal with. However, as I look back, they were never far away. I still have colored pencils that I bought 35 years ago. And my photography. I remember using a dark room to develop the B/W negatives, the enlarger, the chemicals. Oh such sweet memories. Today I am shooting digital and use Photoshop to make corrections. Take out some backscatter. Expose a little here or there. That sort of thing. I am still shooting mostly natural light, even underwater and as I shoot, I learn a little more about the camera. Like a friend. You spend time with it, you get to know it better and better.
My pencils are still close by, as are my paint brushes. And my scuba gear. LOL.
I am starting to take on commissioned projects, from trompe l’oeil to colored pencils to photography, I would love to capture your memories.
